Soft Patchwork Tunic
Glad I took a chance
I bought the tunic and matching skirt for a special occasion in our family. I very nearly didn't, after reading the reviews. But, I'm so glad I did!
I first saw the outfit on-line and read the reviews mentioning concerns with the dye. I loved the look, fit and feel of the outfit when I tried it on in the store so decided to take a chance and purchase the outfit.
After getting it home I realized it was made of 100% rayon and that was actually more troubling to me than the reviews about the dye. I was concerned the outfit would shrink when washed and I'd no longer love the fit.
Since the fit of the tunic was my biggest concern I washed it first; in cold water on the "hand wash" cycle of my washer. I hung it to dry. Even after washing, while still wet, the tunic did continue to rub off blue dye. But it dried nicely and still fit just like before. So I repeated the process with the skirt with the same positive results.
I wore the outfit this past weekend and didn't have any issues with dye rubbing off. I even wore a nude colored body shaper beneath it and thought the real test would be if the dye rubbed off on that. It did not!
I'm so glad I took a chance and bought this beautiful outfit.

Love this top the most of all my purchases. Comfey, soft, the right length, the right color.

Love this look!
Love this comfortable look! There is more ease to this outfit than I thought there would be but I still love it. The top is generously sized but I think it should be. I can't wait for my new boots to arrive so I can wear it!

I did not find anything about the dye included in my box with this outfit. I wore it to school the day after I received it. In a hour, my hands were completely blue. When I got home and took it off, my entire body was blue. This dye wears off. I have had it through 3 wash cycles now (delicate, cold, and I'm hoping it doesn't shrink) to try to get all the excess dye out -- still turning things blue. I am afraid to wash it in hot water or dry it on hot, because it will shrink, but I'm also afraid nothing else is going to set the dye. Maybe vinegar like Easter Eggs? Can't return it now, so trying to make the best of a rotten situation.
